In the 1990s, an embroidery craft community was formed in Reudeup Village, Montasik, Aceh Besar. Ibu Surita, the founder of Surita Bordir (Surita Embroidery), started this business out of her passion for embroidery craftsmanship. With the help of local women, Acehnese embroidery craft was able to grow and flourish. The designs produced by Surita Bordir are quite diverse, including floral motifs, distinctive Acehnese geometric motifs, and others. The works created by Surita Bordir hold high commercial value, as they are still handcrafted manually by the embroidery artisans. Beyond beautiful designs, neatness, harmonious color combinations, punctual completion times, and excellent customer service have all contributed to this business's continued growth and popularity.
