SALAKILO produces cakes, brownies, cookies, chili sauces, beverages, and various other food products made from fresh *salak* (snake fruit)—a fruit abundant in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. The *salak* in Balikpapan possesses a unique flavor profile—slightly tart and astringent—which historically made it difficult for farmers to maximize the sales of their harvests.
SALAKILO supports *salak* farmers by processing the fruit into delicious, healthy food and beverage products. The products contain no preservatives, artificial flavorings, or additives harmful to the body; furthermore, the beta-carotene content in the *salak* fruit is highly beneficial for maintaining good health.
