Batik Banten Mukarnas was established in 2003 by the late Uke Kurniawan SE, who pioneered the first batik in Banten Province and secured its first patent. Inspired by the local wisdom buried beneath the ruins of the 17th-century Banten Sultanate, the brand draws from ancient artifacts painstakingly reconstructed by archaeologists—transforming forgotten motifs into meaningful designs on cotton and silk. Known as "Batik Banten," this is a historical reconstruction that weaves intellectual and cultural narratives into every piece, creating fabrics that truly tell stories.
