IR Songket

IR Songket (Songket Deli) is a Medan-based heritage brand dedicated to reviving Songket Deli, a traditional Malay Deli weaving craft dating back to the Deli Sultanate. Founded in 2014 under Yayasan Khazanah Warisan Melayu Deli and now led by Irfania Ramadhani Lubis, the brand grew from an effort to bring back nearly forgotten weaving skills, giving rise to its signature motif, Daun Tembakau Deli (Deli tobacco leaf). Beyond preserving tradition, IR Songket empowers dozens of local women weavers, many of them homemakers, and has taken Songket Deli to international stages, including Indonesia Fashion Week and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, while continuing to innovate with modern, ready-to-wear songket pieces.
