Bili Droe

Bili Droe has existed since 1983, originally under the name Tunas Karya. In 2018, the group began rebranding itself as Bili Droe. The name "Bili" comes from the Acehnese language, referring to the *bemban* or *bamban* plant (*Donax canniformis*), a type of herbaceous shrub. The raw *bili* stalks are sourced from the mountains surrounding Lampanah Tunong Village. These stalks are split into narrow strips and partially dried before being used as weaving material. The woven *bili* is crafted into a variety of unique items, such as food covers, tote bags, wallets, baskets, fish-drying trays, flower vases, and more.
